Candy Doll Highlighter x Blush (Marshmallow Purple + Peach Pink)

Posted in Candy Doll by Jae on May 11, 2010

Yes yes yes, haha, I FINALLY GOT ME SOME CANDY DOLL BLUSHES! Argh, I swear, had they left me in Tokyo for just two or three more days and I would have bought the entire store.

I’m going to be talking about the widely used Marshmallow Purple highlighter and Peach Pink cheek colour today!

-laughing- Yes, I’ve developed a habit of sticking stickers on my blushes and all items cause I tend to carry my makeup around with me.

Okay, so here’s the deal with these two.

I’m reviewing them together today because they can be used together, one on top of the other but first, here are some pictures of the pretties!

This one’s the Marshmallow Purple highlighter darl! It’s got a little shimmer in it and actually I’m kind of disappointed with the quality of it because it’s just a little bit chalky…

This is Peach Pink cheek colour and it’s so shimmery and cute in the pan T_T

The Marshmallow Purple highlighter blush should be used on the apples of your cheeks and on your T-zone area and the Peach Pink can applied to the upper parts of the apples of your cheeks as a highlighter as well! Swatches here~~~

I know I know, they really are quite sheer aren’t they?! T_T They both actually work a lot better as highlighters… I tried using them the other day with my Candy Doll powder and they looked alright with 3 swipes.

T_T I really really wanted my Peach Pink to work as a cheek colour but waaaa!!! T_T Too sheer!!!!

♡♡♡ Candy Doll Marshmallow Purple Highlighter ♡♡♡

Quality: 8.5/10 [T_T It turned out a little chalky but hey, it’s a highlighter not a cheek colour! ^_^]
Pigmentation: 5/10 [Almost non-existent in terms of purple… XD]
✔ Ease of application: 8/10 [The pan is a little small actually…]
✔ Economical? It’s alright. XD Only available in Japan though…

Verdict:
It really does serve its purpose as a highlighter but overall, I wouldn’t buy it again simply because it’s just… Well, it’s not all that fantastic…

[EDITED]
After using this product for some time now, I’ve realized that rather than simply using this on the upper cheeks, it works great at a highlighter for your T-zone and undereye area. I’m happy enough with the product now because it gives my face enough “brightness” without excessive glitter that most other highlighters load up on.

==================================

♡♡♡ Candy Doll Peach Pink Cheek Colour ♡♡♡

✔ Quality: 4.5/10 [This really is the first time I’m failing a Japanese product… Candy Doll… Why must you do this to me…]
✔ Pigmentation: 2/10 [Almost non-existant! It’s so sheer it’s unbelievable!]
✔ Ease of application: 8/10 [-laughing- The pan’s small!]
✔ Economical?
-laughs again- The pan is smaaaaallllllllll. Waaaay too small.

Verdict:
Unless you’ve got extremely fair skin, it’s not going to work very well… It might actually turn up chalky, in fact… So disappointed… Won’t repurchase for sure!

[EDITED]
Because I’ve found a better product (Melliesh) to work as a pink cheek highlighter, the grade for this product remains as is >_<

    Hi~
thank you for the great review..
but may i know what’s your skin color in MAC?
because the peach pink blusher seems quite obvious on popteen models cheek
and i believe they’re about MAC NC25 or darker

and do you have Majolica Majorca highlighter?
if yes, which one you think might be better?
    thank you~~

      Hello!!!
Haha, I’m actually an NC30 for MAC, dear! And yeah I know what you mean! >_< can't quite understand why it doesn't really show on me… Hmm, I apply it the same way I do all my blushes… Maybe I should experiment with mixing it with another canmake blush? I might try that soon! 😀

And about the MM highlighter, the two are actually quite close in terms of shade but I haven't quite had the chance to do a proper comparison yet. -grinning- thanks for the idea babe! I'll get to that review!
