The Great Loose Powder Battle (AngelColor VS Chacott VS CandyDoll)

I’ve been doing posts on loose powders from Japan so I decided ah what the heck, I should do a round up of all of them, shouldn’t I? No wait, make that a little battle.

Today’s post is a comparison between AngelColor, Chacott and CandyDoll. Sit tight and get your powder masks ready, I’m about to dive in head first into loose powder territory.

Okay fine, I’m actually going to focus more on Chacott and AngelColor cause I’ve got a habit of ditching my old products. :X

It’s AngelColor on the left and Chacott on the right, the first thing you’d notice would be the vast difference in tone. While AngelColor leans towards whitish pink, Chacott’s more beige-ish flesh tone… Almost a little bit of yellowish tinge in there.

This one was taken under afternoon indoor sunlight. Notice how Chacott has a heavier tone? Yup, remember my review of AngelColor a few days back? This is why I said it would be better for the fairer girls… Chacott’s a lot more natural on my skin.

And yeah, I’ve got to talk about the holes in the sifters again, the ones in Chacott are MASSIVE but the AngelColor pan is a lot flatter, making it hugely wider.

The lid for AngelColor is so powdered up cause I shook it really hard, trying to get more product to the surface. I had to spend a huge amount of time trying to shake it back into place after that but ah, all in the name of research. XD

This is a colour comparison between all the three powders – you’d probably notice that out of the three, AngelColor’s the whitest, followed by Chacott which has a slightly fleshy tone leaning more towards yellow and finally, CandyDoll which is more peachy pink.

This one was taken under sunlight and is probably the most accurate in terms of colour.

My last step was to pat the powder gently into my skin and blow the excess off, giving this final result. See how AngelColor makes my skin look a lot whiter?! -scared- I wouldn’t pile this on too much, otherwise it’ll be pretty freaky!

CandyDoll kind of looks similar to Chacott in this picture but there definitely would be a difference on the face. Hmm… Maybe I’ll do a comparison on the cheek the next round!

♡♡♡ AngelColor Loose Powder – Light Natural ♡♡♡

✔ Oil Control: 8/10 [I knocked some points off cause I’ve got another powder that surpasses its performance.]
✔ Coverage: 9/10 [Definitely good coverage here.]
✔ Packaging: 9/10 [It’s easy enough to bring around, comes with a puff and is flat.]
✔ Performance: 8/10 [It’s definitely decent enough to use as an everyday powder if you’re very fair, but it’s way too light for me.]
✔ Live up to its claims? I would suppose so.
✔ Economical? It’s 1890 Yen for 30 g so yes it is!

Verdict:
If you’ve got trouble finding a powder to suit your light skin tone, I’d definitely recommend this. I’ll be trying out the darker version soon so I’ll compare it with this and give a final verdict.

♡♡♡ Chacott For Professionals (Loose Powder) – 01 ♡♡♡

✔ Oil Control: 9/10 [Not going to give it full marks because I know that I have to touchup with the weather is incredibly hot.]
✔ Coverage: 8/10 [Yes, higher than Candydoll because it does do a better job.]
✔ Packaging: 5/10 [It’s a double edged sword here… I cut a lot of marks because it doesn’t come with a puff T_T]
✔ Performance: 9.5/10 [My top ranking loose powder at the moment, knocked Candydoll clean off.]
✔ Live up to its claims? It doesn’t claim to do anything, in fact, it’s not widely advertised, just used by many of the models.
✔ Economical? MOST DEFINITELY!

Verdict:
If you haven’t gotten one, you definitely need one. It’s cheaper than most other brands and works like a dream. With its great price and awesome oil control properties, it’s definitely rebuy worthy!

♡♡♡ Candydoll Loose Powder ♡♡♡

✔ Oil Control: 8.5/10
✔ Coverage: 7.5/10
✔ Packaging: 9/10 [I’m a sucker for stripes and it does have that gorgeous applicator that’s completely awesome.]
✔ Performance: 9/10
✔ Live up to its claims? For sure.
✔ Economical? Hmm… It’s 1640 Yen and only available in Japan… So yes, I do suppose that in comparison to many other loose powders, it’s quite economical.

Verdict:
It doesn’t clog pores, it has awesome oil control and great texture, what more could I ask for?! -laughing-
