Daiso Volume Type Lashes B [[REVIEW]] IMAGE INTENSIVE!

Posted in Daiso by Jae on December 29, 2010

And today I’m going to talk about Daiso’s Volume Type Lashes B that I originally thought looked pretty similar to my Diamond Lash (ドーリーeye) lashes but was oh-so-wrong.

This post is image intensive!

Before I begin, some things for you to know!

1) The lashes were bought at ION Orchard’s branch of Daiso.
The address for the store is:
2 Orchard Turn
#B4-47
ION Orchard,
Singapore 238801

And according to their official website ()http://www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/english/storeinfo/singapore.html), they open at AM10:00 daily and close at PM10:00.

2) Each pair only costs 2.00 SGD

3) There are two pairs in every box

And here they are! 🙂

They did look very pretty in the tray and I was blur enough to think they were like my Diamond Lash ones so here’s a comparison shot between the original Diamond Lash lashes and the ones from Daiso.

The difference is unmistakable  – while the ones from DL has extra straight strands in the middle to increase the emphasis on the pupils, Daiso’s is a simple one-design across sort of lash. Additionally, the lashes from Diamond Lash are jet black while the ones from Daiso are less black – perhaps this is to help with a natural look?

I have to say though, that in terms of length, the lashes from Daiso trumps the Diamond Lash lashes hands down.

The lash band was just stiff enough so that it was easy to work with however, the effect it gave my eyes was one of spikes which I did not particularly like. So I decided to try to save it by layering my DUP lashes.

To give this:

Which I found mildly more acceptable than the original version. To show the difference between the both, the eye on the left has Daiso + DUP while the one on the right only has the lashes from Daiso.

And oh yes, the lash band for Daiso is also fully black, so we’ll have to be careful when applying them, lest it turn out like we didn’t get our eyeliner right!

The lash fibres are not an issue at all, they are soft enough to work with and do not actually look cheap.

♡♡♡ Daiso Volume Type Lashes B ♡♡♡

✔ Length: 9/10 [Way too long for my personal liking.]
✔ Volume: 5/10 [Not much difference in volume]
✔ Ease of application: 6/10 [A relatively soft spine with no pokey bits :X.]
✔ Reusable? Yes!
✔ Economical? Haha, only two bucks for two pairs, you tell me!

Verdict:
My personal preference for even lashes prevents me from using them anymore but if you’d like to try out a pair of lashes that have this type of part cross, part straight lash design, then this would be a nice pair to graduate from because of how economical they are.
