Heavy Rotation Milky Lipstick (Sweet Pink – 03) VS MAC [[REVIEW]]

Posted in Kiss Me Heroine, MAC by Jae on May 14, 2011

A reader recently asked if I’d tried Heavy Rotation’s Milky Lipstick. Now, I’d seen it around at Watsons but never really took an interest because I felt it tugged a bit too much when swatched.

Purchased one for fun anyway cause the packaging was calling out to me. It’s so pretty and pink.

Presenting Heavy Rotation Milky Lipstick (Sweet Pink – 03)!

NARS Blush in Angelika [Featured in EGG BEAUTY] [[REVIEW]]

Posted in MAC, MELLIESH, NARS by Jae on April 2, 2011

So we’ve all been reading EGG Beauty religiously and the latest issue contained pages featuring one of my favourite models, Kanako and makeup tips from her.

One of the products that she used in her makeup tutorial was a NARS product.

So just for you, today’s all about NARS Angelika!

MAC Creme Cup x Melliesh 01 [Strawberry Milk] [[REVIEW]]

Posted in MAC, MELLIESH by Jae on January 29, 2011

And so I was going through my endless supply of lipsticks and products yesterday when I spotted my MAC Creme Cup lipstick that Serene (the darling) CP-ed for me on her way back from Bangkok.

To my knowledge, MAC Creme Cup lipsticks have pretty much disappeared off the face of this earth – they have been out of stock for a while now at all the major MAC counters (read: Raffles City, Tangs, Ngee Ann City, Vivocity etc) in Singapore. Last I heard, it’s slated to be phased out pretty soon for reasons unbeknownst to mankind so I’ve been on the hunt for some dupes and it looks like I might have found something similar. Well, sort of.

That’s right!

I received a question recently from Claire about the highlighting of one’s face so I decided that yup, it’s time I made a chart of the areas that I usually highlight on my own face to give you a gauge of what it’s like 😀

Notice that for this tutorial I only marked out the areas to highlight and not to contour – this is because I’ll be doing another tutorial about contouring at a later date.

Today, we are only concentrating on highlighting – contouring will come later.

Before I start, I‘ll have to say that both of the cleaners work. I can vouch for their effectiveness on brushes that have been used for powder products BUT I cannot say the same for liquid products because I use sponges for my BB cream and liquid foundation.

This post is extremely text intensive!

Brushes??? HELP!!!! [[A REALLY REALLY SHORT GUIDE]] + Something about POPSISTER FEB 2011

Posted in Kinokuniya, MAC, POPSISTER by Jae on December 19, 2010

When I first started out with brushes, I didn’t understand their function and I most certainly didn’t know anything about caring for them. Well, that was until I received my first expensive brush back in 2007 – a Shu Uemura 20H.

I started reading up and because I never actually used it, I didn’t have to wash until very recently when I started using contour and highlighting powder.

MAC Brush Cleaner

So I recently received the MAC Brush Cleaner (235ML) as a Christmas present (together with a box of brushes from A Tartan Tale) and decided to give it a shot seeing that everyone seems to love it. Now? I’m a lover too.

NYX Lipstick Strawberry Milk VS MAC Viva Glam GAGA [[REVISIT!]]

Posted in Cherryculture, MAC, NYX by Jae on December 17, 2010

I hate it when I end up buying colours that are too close to each other, don’t you? Then I’ll be stuck between the two and one will just be left in my makeup box to collect dust.

I figured that Strawberry Milk might look pretty close to my MAC VG GAGA and decided it warranted a revisit! 😀
