MIZUKITTY’S 100 QUESTIONS INTERVIEW [[POPTEEN JANUARY 2011]] [PART ONE]

Posted in Mizuki Nishikawa, POPTEEN by Jae on March 1, 2011

Hello darling!

How’s your week been so far? It’s only Tuesday but I really hope everything’s going well -winks-

I recently received a request from Matilda about translating a magazine interview that Mizukitty did back in Janaury this year! Yes, it’s the 100 questions interview and I’m about to go through seven pages worth of content so I’m going to break this down into a few parts so you and I can breathe in between XD

I won’t be translating the text in the inset boxes until I’m done with the main interview so do hang in there!

Also, my japanese isn’t perfect, so I might make a few mistakes here and there -bowing- if I do, I’m so sorry about that OTL. And yes, my English might sound a little bit strange cause I’ll be translating back and forth. XD

Without further ado, I present to you, the first part of Mizukitty’s 100 Questions interview!

1) What is the one thing that’s made you happiest in your life up till now?
In my life?! I don’t know… Ah! Appearing in POP, it’s my first time working so hard!

2) Who are the members of your family?
My mom, dad, younger brother… And two dogs. One’s Peko and the other’s Kulin. Peko’s been with my family for the last three to four years… Kulin’s only been with us for one. The both of them are my biggest support pillars.

3) What were you like as a child?
I was very strange when I was young! And I was never afraid to approach strangers. When we went to the restaurants, I would also go to the next table to say hi. I also loved to dance so I would suddenly break out in dance, even in the middle of the roads! -laughs- I was just a very spontaneous and hyperactive girl!

4) What about when you were in primary school?
In primary school, I mixed well with all the boys and girls! For the first half of my primary school life, I maintained that strange personality, but I grew out of it during my second half. I’ll just laugh like [hehehe ♥] -laughs- in a rather bizarre way. -laughs- Ah, I used to be really great at sports too. Running was my favourite activity. I was really fast even up till secondary school – it might surprise you but I was a relay runner and could cover 50m in about 7.4 to 7.5 seconds. I was also a long distance runner and actually won second and third in races. But in class, it was different story, I was very quiet so my teachers always scolded me.

5) What about in secondary school then?
In secondary school, I joined the badminton club but never did put in any effort, in fact I hardly attended the club. But when the school gave us a new teacher-in-charge who also was a fabulous coach, everything changed and I started attending club activities very regularly, even during the holidays! I was also friends with many of my seniors, I was never bullied!

6) Have you ever been targeted by your seniors?
That would probably have been in primary school. I wore a mini-skirt to school and my senior yelled from the top of the flight of stairs “You little brat, it’s not your turn to wear mini-skirts yet!!” or “Hey, aren’t your bubble socks a little too long!!”

7) When did you start taking an interest in fashion?
I started taking an interest in makeup and adult’s fashion when I was in Primary three. I always wanted to wear size M clothes because of that and my mom would say “But that’s too big!!” but I would insist that “It’s okay!” and keep wearing medium sized clothes. They would be so loose on me. -laughs-

I was also crazy over Ayumi at that time and would also read POPTEEN! Then I would make a lot of noise about wanting to go shopping at 109. Because my grandmother used to buy things for me all the time, my mom and I would pick her up and go shopping together at 109!

I also wanted to curl my hair but my parents wouldn’t let me… I kept insisting it would be okay and when they finally relented and brought me to a parlor, the result was an over curled head of hair. The soccer boys in my school kept teasing me when they saw me, they said I looked like one of the soccer stars. That was my nickname through secondary school. -laughs-

8) How did your fashion sense change after you graduated from secondary school?
I didn’t have an in-depth understanding of a lot of styles at that time, but I roughly knew the varieties. Like the matured look and casual look… So I would think hard about it and then match my clothes to my vision.

9) What was JC (is this senior high :3) like then?
I chose a school with a lot of GAL seniors and entry was easy cause we just had to go for an interview, but then we changed principals! It was a very strict principal and culture in school completely changed! If you so much as drew in your eyebrows, you’d get called up and worse if you wore pupil enlarging contacts! During that period, I just thought to myself “I can’t go on like this” and didn’t want to go to school anymore.

Oh and my results went from bad to worse, I went from being third in class to the third from the bottom of class -laughing- I later got suspended from school and told my mom day after day “I can’t take it anymore!”, and after a while, they let me transfer out.

When I first entered JC, I wanted to dye my hair, pierce my ears, do my makeup and just look my prettiest everyday but I couldn’t do any of that… So I left my first school after the first year…

*** Thank you Luna for pointing the error out! XDDD
It’s “pierce my ears” not eyes XDDDDD

===================================================

-this girl needs to rush off now- XD hope you enjoyed this first portion! I’ll be back again soon with more!
